Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Friends,

I am Divya, a software engineer, but I am so passionate towards art and craft and doing it since my childhood days. Nowadays, I am making quilling projects, scrapbooking, parchment but have not published anything on any sites except on facebook :-). Now I got an opportunity through lulupu team to try my hands on mixed media layouts/ collage. Here, I am showcasing my mixed media canvas:

Well guys, This photo describes about me:-) I love flowers, butterflies, gears and keys which I almost use in all my projects. Here in this project, I have used lots of product and techniques:

1) I took 8*8 Canvas, applied one thin coat of gesso on top of it and dried it using heat tool.

2)Tore different pattern papers and folded it through hands and pasted it using Modge Podge. You can easily see this effect above clock and other places also.

3)I have used 6*6 TCW flutterby, Chicken wire stencils, wherever I wanted it on my canvas and applied modeling paste to get the raised effect.

4)Then I have started layering canvas using different embellishments like trims, prima flowers, kaisercraft flowers, wood veneer butterflies, metal gears, keys, flowers, clock, bows, bird, doilies, wooden alphabets, buttons, tiles etc.

5) Next step, covered whole canvas using gesso and then have used various Lindy's sprays to get below antique effect and dried it using heat tool. And then finally used dried gesso brush to give dull white antique effect on embellishments.

This is my first post and I hope you guys will like my mixed media collage:-)

My Big Inspiration for this project is Arlene and a big thanks to lulupu design team to showcase my first mixed media canvas.

Waiting for your compliments, comments :-)
